After much work and effort, the replacement for the "Sports Teams" forum has gone live! The new League Index is a more organized, better laid-out version of the old forum threads that better serves as an index and identifier of sports teams. A link to the index can be found on the menu bar (the bar that includes links to the Calendar, Search, and Rules of the Game).

Please note that the index is not yet entirely complete. Several leagues still need to be moved to the new grid format; some logos have not yet been uploaded; and the individual Minor League Baseball league pages have not yet been added.

If you have any feedback or suggestions for the League Index, please let us know. If you would like to help with the creation of the Minor League Baseball pages, send me a PM.

Users of the site will have noticed that we have made some changes to the theming (themeing? ) on ITC. First, we have stopped using the original Orange and Blue theme. The old BRA Throwback theme has been renamed Orange and Blue, replacing the old OaB. The BRA Throwback theme has been replaced with a different version of the Throwback, this one more true to the original Broncos Rule All skin from the early days on InvisionFree (consider the new OaB/old BRA Throwback to be a new, ZB-ified version of the IF BRA skin while the new Throwback is designed to look as much like the original as possible).

If you notice anything that seems to be out of place or miscolored or anything (or if you just want to praise us for a job well done), please let us know.

Congratulations to long-time member and referee PSUSyr5! While there are currently no Commissioner positions available, PSUSyr5's experience and dedication to ITC has warranted his elevation to Assistant to the Commissioner (assistants are a new feature in the ZetaBoards software). PSUSyr has been instrumental in getting us our InTheClutch.net domain name, and he has been promoted accordingly to Domain Manager. In addition, he has also been working on tweaks to our current themes, as well as development of new themes for use. As such he has also been promoted to Theme Manager.

We look forward to his continued assistance in the future.

Following a recent update to the ZetaBoards software, I have had to take the calendar offline due to the triggering of a bug in the calendar system. The problem is being looked into, and I hope to have it back online soon.

In The Clutch's third birthday is quickly approaching, and once again we are inviting everyone to participate in our annual post-fest to celebrate three years of general sports insanity! It's that time of year again - the end of Daylight Saving Timein the United States! At 2:00 AM EDT, clocks will shift back and hour to 1:00 AM EST (yay, extra sleep!). To change your board clock, just go to the board settings in your preferences.

The NHL season is upon us, with four teams kicking things off over in Europe. Accordingly, the NHL season challenge is the first challenge for the 2009 competition year.

We have made a few changes to the competition system that are being implemented beginning with the NHL challenge.

In the future, all competitions forums will be inside the Battle Zone forum (formerly Faceoff!). This begins with the NHL season challenge; all competitions already in progress will remain on the main index until the end of the competition. In addition, all competition forums will be renamed to better reflect the sports they represent - the NHL and Faceoff! forums have already been renamed.

As you may have noted earlier, we will be making use of the joinable groups feature in the new ZetaBoards software. The joinable groups will help the competition leaders know who is participating in which competitions. In addition, we have started to use a new set of permissions masks - filters that determine what member group can see and do stuff in which forums. The benefit is that you will only be able to see the competitions you sign up for and won't be bombarded by all of the other competition forums you're not interested in.

Further uses of the groups will be implemented as we get more comfortable with the features and options they provide.

In the meantime, go to your preferences and click "Joinable Groups" to see a list of groups available. Then get ready to make some NHL picks!

And as always, we welcome feedback and suggestions for the competitions.

We have worked very hard to get the site to where it is today, and while we may not be the most active forum on the internet, we are not going to give it up now.
