Weather Delays Stadium Opening; Revolution Will Open On June 15

York Revolution team officials announced today that their home stadium is behind schedule.

The first game to be played at Sovereign Bank Stadium was supposed to happen on May 3. That date is now being pushed back to June 15.

Originally there were 72 games slated for the stadium. Now, there will be 60 games. Some games are being rescheduled while others will be played at neutral sites. The team expects to announce details of the rescheduled games within the week, following Atlantic League approval, according to a news release.

Well, that's a bit of a bummer. The storms of February, March, and now April have caused delays to construction. This comes after warm weather allowed construction to continue in November, December, and January, putting them ahead of schedule.
