Inside Lacrosse has released the Face-Off Yearbook Top 25 preseason rankings for the 2008 men's DI college lacrosse season.

Defending national champion Johns Hopkins, led by 2007 Tewaaraton finalist Paul Rabil, earned the top spot, followed by national runner-up Duke, which returns the potent front line tandem of Zack Greer and Tewaaraton winner Matt Danowski.

The ACC placed three more teams in the top six, with 2006 national champion Virginia, which brought in the nation's top recruiting class this year, weighing in at No. 3, while resurgent North Carolina and a reloaded Maryland team took the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, respectively.

All of the traditional powerhouses are there (Syracuse is #11), and I see a few others like Denver, UMass, and Dartmouth.

All in all, they didn't do too bad...getting Hopkins in the title game, along with Duke and Virginia in the semis. They missed Syracuse by a bit though...then again coming from a 5-8 season, can't say I blame them. ;)
