Tigers have a 2 game winning streak now...and this comes right after Leyland was talking about how chemistry is just a class you take, and they just need to hit. Maybe he knows a thing or 2 about his team? |

Will anyone be surprised that this team makes the playoffs? I know horrible start but...This was a popular World Series winner...and with the roster they have, they have no excuse for not making the playoffs. |

Detroit's got a 3 game winning streak now, beating Cleveland 13-2. I won't be surprised if the Tigers make it. I mean, every team is going to have a down period. The only problem for them is that they've basically already used up theirs. So another 2-10 streak would be very costly to them. |

I told you I wasn't sold on them this year, even as a fan. With the injuries to a lot of players, it's going to make the season that much more difficult. I know it's just early May, but I still don't see the Yankees getting to the playoffs. |

It comes down to pitching, we know the Yankees have offense, with that payroll, you should make the playoffs...but the fact is they don't spend enough on pitching, or do they? I don't know but if they do, then they obviously aren't spending it wisely. You've got Wang, you got Joba, but I'm not sure who else on that team is worth big bucks. Rivera, alright. But Pettite looks like his career is nearing the end, Mussina I don't find great, and Kennedy has had a horrible year so far. I don't know about Hughes but I remember hearing that he's not off to a great start either. |

In one inning, Joba Chamberlain had thrown 23 pitches, getting a strikeout but allowing 2 walks, 1 hit which just happened to be a 3 run homer, giving the Indians a 5-3 lead. Pettite had a decent 6 and 1/3 outing, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and one walk and getting 6 strikeouts throwing 102 pitches. I stand by what I said awhile ago, putting him into the rotation now wouldn't really do much good. |

So the Rays are leading the AL East. And the year is getting close to being 1/3 done so it's still early and anything can happen. However, the Rays are definitely considered a surprise. Am I surprised? A bit but I knew the Rays were better this year, and I had a feeling they'd be close to .500 ball. But like most, I didn't expect them to be leading the AL East 1/3 into the season. |

3-2 Jays led in the bottom of the 9th. The Angels have bases loaded (3rd batter was intentionally walked). And the tying run was when BJ ryan hit Kendrick's elbow. A bit of controversy since it appears Kendrick made no motion of trying to avoid being hit. Next batter and it was a hit. So Jays blow a 3-2 lead in the 9th and lose 4-3. |
