I would prefer 2 hours flights over 10. ;)

Coast to coast is 2 hours? Wow, I've been getting on the wrong flights then.

No, of course not, but say Boston to Madrid is 10 (I really don't have a clue). LA to Madrid would be even worse.

Which is why you don't fly from LA. ;) No one said you had to fly from West Coast to Europe. Play a few games against the Atlantic division, then fly out to Europe from DC, NYC, Boston, Philly, and so on.

I think it would be better to do two separate leagues with exhibition games between the two occasionally. Kind of like how MLS is doing things with European soccer teams.

I could see that happening if there were close to an even number of North American and European teams in the NBA, either by creating teams or taking some from each of the Euro leagues.

But if they start out with 5 or 6 teams in Europe, I'm not sure how well keeping so few teams separate from the rest would work. Something about that just doesn't seem right to me, and I doubt I really can explain it.

So Kobe said he'd go to Europe for $50 million/year. Heh, well he is familiar with Italy, he did live there for a a couple years. But I personally can only see Kobe going to Europe if his NBA career was over with, which is probably a good 5-10 years away.

That comment flies in the face of the theory he wants to win a ring without shaq.

Haha, I didn't think about that, but yeah you do have I point there. Seems like that would be something he'd say after he got another championship.

Though, if he is a free agent after this coming season, this is probably more about getting teams to pay him.

His quote at the end of the article does make a good point though...what reasonable person wouldn't take $50 million?
