It's a major first step. Rossetti Architects has given a preliminary design of the new Philadelphia soccer stadium to Keystone Sports, the company that will run the MLS expansion franchise.

The multipurpose stadium will be home to the team which is scheduled to debut in 2010, an expansion team for the Women’s Professional Soccer league team set to begin play that same year, and other sporting events and concerts.

The 18,500-seat stadium will be constructed at the foot of the Commodore Barry Bridge in Chester, 13 miles west of downtown Philadelphia.
